Silver Peak today announced integration of its virtual WAN optimization software with the new Dell PowerEdge VRTX converged IT solution for branch offices. Silver Peak extends the Dell VRTX high-performance “data center-in-a-box” capabilities with up to 20x faster communications to additional remote offices, data centers and the cloud over any wide area network. Watch this video of Silver Peak vice president of alliances, Marc Trimuschat, discussing the Silver Peak integration with Dell PowerEdge VRTX.
According to Brian Payne, executive director for PowerEdge servers at Dell, “Running a mix of different hardware in today’s branch office is inefficient, costly, and no longer necessary. The Dell PowerEdge VRTX redefines the remote office data center by reducing hardware sprawl and converging best-in-class server, storage and networking in a compact footprint for the branch. Silver Peak understands this model well and its software-based WAN optimization complements the Dell VRTX to help customers reduce costs of long-distance networking and data acceleration between branch offices, data centers and the cloud.”
