Still basking in its joint announcement at EMC World in May around Silver Peak’s WAN Optimization (WANop) solution supporting EMC’s VPLEX Geo storage federation technology, Silver Peak will continue its tour with EMC when the EMC Forum events continue in Long Beach today.
The EMC Forum events give IT personnel a chance to meet representatives from Silver Peak – industry-leading authorities in the field of WAN optimization and an EMC Select Partner – at a location close to home. During this traveling trade show, IT professionals will learn how to improve access to data in all cloud environments – private, public and hybrid. Silver Peak will also focus on WANop’s data backup cloud infrastructure, off-site data security, lowered data protection costs, optimized storage utilization and lowered TCO from automation.
Each one-day forum will include keynotes, breakouts and exhibits. Also included will be a presentation of how EMC VPLEX Geo allows users to access a single copy of data from any global location, resulting in geographically distributed virtual and physical hosts across the network. Part of that presentation will demonstrate how the integration of Silver Peak can enable EMC VPLEX Geo customers to reduce WAN bandwidth requirements by up to 20x, reduce WAN costs by up to 10x, and deploy more applications over existing WAN infrastructures.
The schedule for the remaining EMC Forum events is:
