Next week, tech vendors, resellers and end users will descend on IP EXPO in London. Billed as the “only” enterprise IT event that brings everything together under one roof., it promises to showcase new products, product demos, solutions and educational seminars for information technology (IT) professionals. But one thing is sure to stand out at this IP EXPO over previous years: the performance impact on storage, virtualization and networking.
Silver Peak is participating in the show with live demonstrations of our VXOA software and formal presentations to attendees on a variety of topics. Plus, we have a special guest: Britain’s first and only Olympic ski jumper, Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards. Visitors to Silver Peak’s booth will be able to compete against Eddie the Eagle in a 2012 Silver Peak Ski Jump Challenge.
Silver Peak experts Andrew Gardner, Paul Roberts and Joe Bombagi will be presenting on the following topics:
- “Optimizing Big Data over Distance” on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:10 am in the Big Data Theater
- “Will Workload Optimization Replace WAN Optimization?” on Wednesday, October 17th at 2:30 pm in the Network Optimization theater
- “20x Faster Replication in Under 20 Minutes” on Thursday, October 18th at 1:10 pm in the Data Center Optimization theater
I suspect we will see lots of new terminology at this show, and I’m sure “software-defining networking” (SDN) will begin to put a dent in “cloud” messaging in many booths at the show. Regardless, these trends are opening the door for new wide area network (WAN) optimization deployment models and driving more demand for moving data over longer distances.
The 2012 IP Expo is taking place October 17th–18th at Earls Court 2 in London and the Silver Peak stand will be located at A26.
