Debating the next steps in WAN optimization

interop new yorkInterop New York is right around the corner, and with it comes a host of compelling panel presentations. In fact, independent analyst Jim Metzler of Ashton, Metzler, and Associates has invited Silver Peak to participate in a panel titled, “What are the next steps for WAN optimization?” Given all the recent advancements and progress being made in WAN optimization, this promises to be an exciting debate.

VP of Product Management, Damon Ennis, will represent Silver Peak on the panel, which begins at 11:30 a.m. ET on Oct. 5, 2011 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Damon and the other panelists will examine the options customers have today for acquiring and deploying WAN optimization, from branch offices, to data centers, to the cloud. Panelists will also debate whether or not the current generation of WAN optimization controllers (WOCs) can support massive file transfers between branch offices. If you’re a Silver Peak customer, you already know there is not much to debate on this front.

If you haven’t met Damon yet, he directs Silver Peak’s product management and field engineering organization. He has more than 20 years experience building enterprise and service-provider networking equipment. Most recently, he served as senior director of systems engineering and chief technologist at CIENA. Prior to CIENA, Damon held senior management and technical roles at FORE Systems.

Special thanks to Jim Metzler for having us, and we look forward to an enlightening debate!
