Silver Peak Passes ONUG’s First SD-WAN Testing Program

Silver Peak has successfully completed the Open Networking User Group’s (ONUG) first testing program, which validates software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) market solutions against key IT requirements.

ONUG is an essential driver for defining the new requirements of today’s networks. Our ONUG-validated solution, and our ongoing work within the ONUG SD-WAN Working Group, is proving to be instrumental in redefining wide area networks… all with an eye toward leveraging the availability and flexibility of broadband Internet connectivity.

The ONUG use case validation testing is a landmark event in the networking industry, signaling the first time commercial solutions are being tested against requirements outlined by the ONUG Working Groups. The ONUG tests aim to provide proofs of concept, feature validation, and demonstrations to ensure that the networking solutions in the network overlays, SD-WAN, and network services virtualization areas deliver on the top ten requirements developed by the ONUG Working Groups.

Nick Lippis, Chairman and Co-Founder of ONUG, stated: “We were delighted to have Silver Peak on board with ONUG this spring. These tests underscore our commitment to the ONUG Community of IT executives and vendors to validate product features that meet IT business leader requirements for enterprise cloud infrastructure. We are confident that this testing effort with partners such as Silver Peak will assist in moving the open infrastructure industry from technology curiosity to operations.”
